Sheriff: Inmate assaulted, intimidated another at Wayne Co. Jail

Deputies in Wayne County report the arrest of a Lyons man after an incident involving two inmates at the County Jail.

David M. Allen, 47, of Lyons was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree intimidating a witness.

Deputies say the charges stem from an investigation into an incident that took place on May 26th at the Wayne County Jail. Allen is accused of striking another inmate in retaliation for the other inmate having cooperated during a burglary investigation, which resulted in Allen being charged and convicted.

Allen was arrested at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, arraigned in Arcadia Town Court and committed back to the Wayne County Jail on no bail.

Allen is set to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
