Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort dock plan sunk

An expanded dock proposed as part of the stalled Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort project appears to be sunk, but is that enough to sink the entire Lakeshore Drive project?

Members of City Council’s environmental/parks committee on Tuesday night voted against recommending to the full council a revised plan for a 40-slip dock, which co-developer Robert Murphy said is essential to obtaining financing for the overall $54 million project to proceed again.

The committee’s action “could kill the project,” Murphy said after the meeting.

Murphy has said the potential lender requires the expanded dock — which would add to the private Canandaigua Lady boat dock — for the 44 condominiums that are part of the project, which also calls for a 109-room Hilton hotel, convention center, spa and restaurant.
