Weekend offers some relief from heavy rain, humid weather

For the most part, the weather is going to be a welcomed change throughout this weekend.

After extensive flooding in parts of Cayuga, Tompkins, Seneca, and Ontario counties over the last several days – the region should begin to dry out on Saturday. While a spotty shower or pop up thunderstorm isn’t out of the question – the heavy, inundating rains that have been hammering the region over the last two days is past.

Saturday will be the cloudier of the two days, but temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday will reach to near 80 degrees.

For those looking to do some outdoor activities – weather shouldn’t stop them until late-Sunday when another round of thunderstorms is possible. Those are likely to hold off until the very-late afternoon or evening hours.
