Auburn honors Harriet Tubman with second annual Strawberry Stroll

Over the span of 11 years, Harriet Tubman rescued over 70 slaves, traveling on the Underground Railroad under the cover of night, with only the North Star to guide her.

"If you're really adventurous, you may want to leave [the Seward house] later, close your eyes and try to walk back to [Tubman's] grave site," Mayor Michael Quill joked Sunday at the second annual Tubman Strawberry Stroll, held at the Seward House Museum.

"To me, it's amazing how she traveled so many times, back and forth, never lost a passenger," Quill added. "Just guided by the North Star. She was quite a lady."
