Waterloo school board to vote on hiring new principal

The appointment of a new high school principal will be the focus of a special meeting of the Board of Education at 7 p.m. Monday.

The name of the person offered the position was not available Friday.

The candidate was selected after the district re-advertised for applicants when the original candidate offered the job, Katharine Waite of Lima, decided to remain in her current job as assistant principal of Albion High School.

The district is still advertising for a dean of students position to replace a former position of assistant high school principal. A dean of students does not have to have administrative certification, and does not have to evaluate teachers, but can discipline students.
