Sunny weather will dominate remainder of FLX work week

Temperatures will soar back to ‘normal’ ranges on Wednesday and Thursday, which could make them choice days of the week — for getting outside and doing something in the Finger Lakes.

Fair weather clouds, mostly-sunny conditions, and temperatures at or above 80 degrees means ideal weather for almost anything in the region for mid-summer status.

FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montrueil notes that the weather should remain calm through this week — with a couple of minor weekend disturbances making for slightly more unsettled weather.

Montreuil added in an update on Wednesday:

“A few scattered showers are possible on Friday as the first of these disturbances moves through. Much of the day will likely remain dry though. The best chance for rain will be later in the afternoon, during the peak heating of the day.

The chances for rain and thunderstorms appear to be a bit better on Saturday. Again, there should be plenty of dry time with most of the action coming during the mid and late afternoon hours.

Rain amounts will vary greatly by location over this time period, with some areas not seeing any rain while others see over a half-inch.

Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding are not expected.

A few showers may linger into Sunday, but a generally nicer day is expected. More showers will be possible early next week.

Temperatures during this time will slide back into the 70s.”
