Tina Bloom and Gary L. Davis seek GOP nod in Canandaigua Town Board primary

A year of upheaval on the Canandaigua Town Board may ease somewhat after the votes in the September primary election are tallied.

Tina M. Bloom and Gary L. Davis are squaring off in a Republican primary on Sept. 12 to fill the remainder of a term that at one time was held by current Supervisor Greg Westbrook, who was appointed supervisor after former supervisor, state Sen. Pam Helming, took state office in Albany on Jan. 1.

His spot earlier in the year was filled with the appointment of Councilwoman Linda Dworaczyk, who is seeking election for a full four-year term that will be vacated at the end of the year by Deputy Supervisor and Councilman Keith Cutri, who is not seeking re-election.

Neither Bloom nor David have run for public office before.
