McCarron’s 61 highlights second day of Dick’s Open

That Usain Bolt-like sprint Scott McCarron made to the top of the leaderboard came early in the day.

The question thereafter was, could anyone catch him?

Only one answered in the affirmative – first round co-leader Kevin Sutherland.

McCarron’s 11-under-par 61 around En-Joie Golf Course vaulted him into a three-shot lead when he finished his second round, but Sutherland caught him and those two will start Sunday’s final round of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open two shots in front of the field. Both players are 12-under par.
