One sent to Upstate Medical after rollover accident in Cayuga Co.

Poplar Ridge, Aurora Rescue and Southern Cayuga Ambulance are on the scene of a one-car accident at the intersection of Sands Rd. And Sherwood Rd., according to first responders and radio traffic.

According to radio traffic, one female patient is trapped inside the vehicle involved. There were also reported injuries, too.

Command requested all available manpower from Aurora to the scene, to assist with the wreckage. The accident was reportedly shortly after 7 pm.

While it’s unclear if there were other injuries, first responders say that the female patient was transported to Upstate University Hospital for a possible broken collar bone. Additional injuries were not verified through radio contact.

Southern Cayuga Ambulance transported the patient to Upstate as crews worked for 30 minutes to free her.

The accident remains under investigation.
