Police: Auburn man arrested for harassing, imprisoning woman

An Auburn man was arrested Thursday after violating an order of protection against him, police said.

Ronald E. Ostrander, 28, of 35 Cayuga St., was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony, as well as second-degree unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. He was also charged with second-degree harassment, a violation.

According to the Auburn Police Department, at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Ostrander got in a physical altercation with a 28-year-old woman at Oak Creek Town Homes. Police said the victim attempted to leave her apartment, but Ostrander chased her down and dragged her back by the arm. He then allegedly broke her cellphone.
