Waterloo man uninjured as CSX train collides with vehicle in Lyons

A Waterloo man was uninjured after a CSX train collided with his vehicle, after it became stuck on the tracks in Lyons.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that the vehicle became stuck on the tracks near Leach Rd. around 9:55 pm, and although CSX was warned of the vehicle, it was too late.



The train collided with the vehicle, which had to be towed from the scene.

Adam R. Porter, of Waterloo was the operator of the vehicle, and according to deputies was uninjured in the incident.

Train traffic resumed on the tracks after an investigation and inspection were completed.
