Amphibious houseboat in Aurora makes international TV

Theon Parseghian’s amphibious houseboat is amazing audiences internationally, as word of his maiden voyage from Frontenac Park in Union Springs has spread.

“The Daily Planet,” a Canadian show put on by the Discovery Channel, featured a short clip of the village of Aurora resident from Aug. 23, driving his 32-foot boat and agricultural sprayer hybrid into Cayuga Lake.

Tyndale Parseghian, Theon’s brother, said a few other outlets have picked the story up, too. Genius Cars, a media network about cars and transportation, shared a video about the boat’s creation and launch on Facebook. The video had received about 546,000 views and been shared more than 4,000 times online as of Thursday afternoon. Speed Society, an automotive enthusiasts network, shared video of Theon’s creation, in addition to Geekologie, a blog covering “the scientific study of gadgets, gizmos, and awesome.”
