Police arrested a Waterloo woman, who now faces 50 felony charges, following an investigation into a stolen checkbook.
Shara K. Brown, 44, of Waterloo was arrested and charged with 24 counts of second-degree forgery, 24 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, third-degree grand larceny, and fourth-degree grand larceny, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.
The charges are all felonies, according to a press release and were the result of an investigation into a stolen checkbook.
Investigators say that Brown forged 24 stolen checks, and presented them as payment for several thousand dollars during the months of June and July.
She was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and is being held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility without bail.
A preliminary hearing will be held on September 11th at 5:30 pm.
