There was a declared emergency and the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing, according to the latest media reports.
The crash that took the life of Troy Gentry, one half of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry, happened mere hours before a scheduled show at the del Lago Resort & Casino Vine.
The show, which was scheduled for Saturday was cancelled after the news broke.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Montgomery Gentry family, fans and the country music world as a whole,” said Jeff Babinski, Executive Vice President and General Manager.
Babinski added in a press release that anyone who purchased tickets will be able to get a full-refund for the show, with credit card sales being refunded within 3 to 5 business days.
