Wayne County man charged with assault, endangering child

A Wayne County man was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation into a domestic incident.

According to Wayne County Sheriff’s report, Michael E. Caldwell II, 26, of Reed Road in town of Savannah allegedly grabbed his girlfriend’s 4-year-old child by the arm causing the child to fall to the floor. The child later went to the hospital and it was determined the child sustained a buckle fracture to the left femur. Police say the alleged incident took place this June 27.
