The New York state average has jumped 35 cents over the past two weeks to $2.83 a gallon.

One year ago, the national average price stood at $2.18 per gallon, with the state average price at $2.32 a gallon.

For the Rochester region, the average price climbed a dime over the past week, to $2.77 a gallon, AAA reported.

In Canandaigua on Monday, GasBuddy.com listed the lowest available price as $2.63 cash, found at the Sunoco at Rochester Road near Parkside Drive.
