FL Community Health gets $175K grant

Finger Lakes Community Health has been awarded a $175,700 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The grant was announced by Rep. Tom Reed, R-23 of Corning, whose district includes Yates County. Finger Lakes Community Health, based in Penn Yan, was founded in 1989 as a provider of health care for agricultural workers.

A federally qualified health center, it has since expanded to provide comprehensive health care for everyone, with numerous centers in the region including Penn Yan, Geneva, Newark, Ovid, and Sodus. The grant was awarded by the Health Resources & Services Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services for use in expanding access to mental health and substance abuse treatment, prevention and awareness.
