Canandaigua Lake Watershed Program Manager Kevin Olvany reported Thursday improved conditions on the lake following Monday’s occurrence of blue-green algae. Visual surveys of the shoreline on Wednesday showed clear water and “no signs of blooms or surface streaking” along the east side of the lake.
“Overall conditions looked very good in the areas that we have been seeing isolated concentrations of blue-green algae,” stated Olvany. “There seemed to be enough wind to break up any concentrations on the east side.”
