Kitty Karle, who lost the Republican primary for Ontario County district attorney, announced today she has ended her campaign.
“On primary Election Day, the voters spoke, and the Republican party chose its candidate,” Karle said in a statement. “I must and will respect that choice. As such I will no longer actively campaign for the position of District Attorney.”
Karle lost the Republican primary to Jim Ritts, Ontario County first assistant district attorney, with just under 45 percent of the vote. Karle won the Reform line in that primary and she will be on three lines on the Nov. 7 ballot: Conservative, Independence and Reform.
