Canandaigua driver causes second crash while speeding by accident scene

On Monday the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Canandaigua Ambulance were called to the scene of a three-car accident that happened at the corner of Andrews Rd. and North Rd. in the Town of Canandaigua.

Deputies say that Arthur Coles, 27, of Canandaigua was traveling north in a pickup truck by the scene of an accident — where emergency vehicles had lights running — and sideswiped another car after failing to slow down.

Coles’ vehicle then struck another vehicle before coming to rest along side the roadway.

He was ticketed for failing to reduce speed, and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle. The charges will be answered at a later date in Canandaigua Town Court.

As result of the wreck, Coles was transported to Thompson Hospital for treatment of shoulder pain.
