Police: Canandaigua man assaulted victim with pipe wrench

On Monday at approximately 8:50 pm police arrested a 57-year-old Canandaigua man on assault charges after an incident in the city.

According to police Douglas C. Aucter, of Canandaigua repeatedly struck a male victim in the head and face with a pipe wrench. The victim sustained lacerations and contusions to the head and face areas, and was subsequently sent to Thompson Hospital for treatment.

Aucter was charged with second-degree assault and is being held at the Ontario County Jail.
