Police: Syracuse man arrested, took vehicle without owner’s permission

On Monday at approximately 12:33 pm police in Seneca Falls arrested a Syracuse man for driving without a license, and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Police say Christopher M. Schmidt, 29, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation and uninspected motor vehicle after a traffic stop on State Route 89.

The traffic stop took place after police received a complaint that the driver was operating the car without the owner’s consent. At that time, the vehicle was located traveling north on State Route 89, and was subsequently stopped.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
