Sale of former St. Pats school falls through; new buyer sought

The potential sale of the former St. John Bosco School has fallen through, but the search for a buyer will continue.

The building, located at 81 W. Bayard St., is owned by St. Frances-St. Clare Parish of Seneca Falls and Waterloo. The building housed St. Patrick’s School from its inception in 1879 until its closure in 2005. It then re-opened as St. John Bosco School, which closed in 2007.

The Rev. James Fennessey, parish pastor, said he entered into a sale contract with an unidentified party interested in buying the two-story school building.

But Fennessey said this past week that the sale fell through and the parish is entertaining new offers.
