One child injured after Rochester driver crashes into van in Bristol

On Saturday around 9 am deputies responded to County Road 32 and Route 64 for a report of a crash with injuries in the Town of Bristol.

Deputies say it was determined that Joseph Mancuso, 19, of Rochester was operating a 2017 Buick westbound on County Road 32 when he failed to negotiate a curve.

Amy Logan, 36, of Bloomfield was operating a 2010 Chrysler, traveling eastbound on County Road 32 when she saw the Buick out of control.

She maneuvered toward the shoulder in an attempt to avoid the collision but the Buick struck the Chrysler anyway.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged and had airbag deployment. Logan had five children in the van and all were properly secured in child safety seats.

Logan’s 9-year-old daughter suffered an arm injury and she was transported to Thompson Hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance, according to deputies.

Mancuso was ticketed fo failure to reduce speed for a hazard and failure to keep right. He will answer the charges in Bristol Town Court at a later date.
