Canandaigua man arrested after lengthy crack investigation

On December 6th at approximately 8:15 pm, officers of the Canandaigua Police Department, with the assistance of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department, arrested a 38-year-old Canandaigua resident after an investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine.

Daniel A. Jones of Canandaigua, for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

It’s alleged that at the time of his arrest Jones was found to be in possession of over one ounce of crack cocaine, which was packaged for sale.

The arrest of Jones is the result of an extensive co-investigation conducted by the Canandaigua City Police Department and the Ontario County Sheriff’s regarding the sale and distribution of crack cocaine throughout Ontario County.

As part of the investigation, search warrants were also executed by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on several residences throughout Ontario County. Additional charges are pending, according to police.

Jones was being held in the Ontario County Jail without bail.
