Police: Auburn man accused of using stun gun on his dog

Police say a 20-year-old, with no permanent address was arrested on a warrant this week.

According to police, Daquan S. Richardson, 20, was charged with third-degree possession of a weapon – a Class D felony and animal cruelty.

Police Chief Shawn Butler told the Auburn Citizen that they received a complaint on October 9th from a neighbor who had video surveillance footage of Richardson allegedly using a stun gun on his own dog.

He was convicted of fourth-degree criminal mischief in Auburn City Court back in February.

He was arraigned on Thursday and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail.
