Melanie Wickham’s name is nearly synonymous with Empire Farm Days.
After 32 years as organizer and manager of the largest outdoor agricultural trade show in the Northeast, Wickham is leaving.
A town of Seneca resident in Ontario County, Wickham has served as executive director of the Empire State Potato Growers Inc., which sponsors Empire Farm Days every August. Since 1988, the event has been held at the Rodman Lott & Son Farm on Route 414 in Seneca Falls.
“I want to pursue some new projects,” Wickham said Wednesday. “I thoroughly enjoyed my job. It was an honor and privilege to do this for 32 years, but I feel like the time had come to be less busy.”
