A Wayne County company has been selected to receive a $600,000 grant from the state Regional Economic Development Council program to help with its planned $9.25 million expansion.
OptiPro, at 6368 Dean Parkway, was one of three EDC grant winners from the Finger Lakes Region announced this week by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
OptiPro will use the money to assist in the expansion and purchase of machinery and equipment to grow its domestic and export sales of precision optic products.
The company was founded by the Bechtold brothers in 1982. It moved to its current location in 1998, and the building was expanded in 2011 and 2013. In 1990, the company expanded its line of precision optics and machining products.
The other two Finger Lakes Region winners were in Rochester. They are the Center for Teen Empowerment, which will receive $400,000 from the ESD, and the Rochester Museum & Science Center, which is getting $1 million from the Market New York program.
