Ex-wife accused of setting fire that destroyed ‘Apple Farm’ in Victor

Deputies in Ontario County have made an arrest stemming from a fire investigation where a popular Victor apple farm was destroyed.

Karen Bahai, 57, of Greece was charged with third-degree arson, a felony, on Monday. She is accused of starting the fire that destroyed the retail portion of the Apple Farm located on Route 444 last November.

The Democrat & Chronicle reports that Bahai is the ex-wife of one of the owners of the apple farm.

She was arraigned on Monday in Victor Court where investigators asserted that Bahai intentionally set the fire, which led to the building’s destruction.

The fire took place during the overnight hours of November 4th. Luckily, the fire did not spread the the home on the property, nor the apple orchard.
