Deputies: Palmyra man possessed controlled substance

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Palmyra man for Criminal possession of a controlled substance and multiple traffic violations.

Justin M. Jewitt, 27, of Palmyra is accused of operating a vehicle while traveling on State Route 31 in Lyons. He was stopped for failure to keep right, according to deputies.

Upon further investigation Jewitt was found to have in his possession Suboxone strips which were not prescribed to him.



Jewitt was charged with Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and issued citations for failure to keep right, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, unlicensed operation, and failure to notify DMV of an address change.

He was released on an appearance tickets. He is to appear in Town of Lyons court at a later date to answer the charges.
