Ithaca man arrested on felony drug charges after warrant executed on Tuesday

During the early-morning hours Ithaca Police say that their SWAT team served two search warrants in the city of Ithaca.

According to police, one was served at a residence in the 200 block of East Falls Street and the second was served in the 200 block of Linn Street.



Inside one of the locations, the officers located the target of their narcotics trafficking investigation. Jonathan Sanchez was found with 4.5 ounces of cocaine, $12,000 cash, as well as a .22 caliber rifle. Police say that packaging materials and scales were also located at the residence.

Jonathan Sanchez, 26, of Ithaca was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on no bail.
