Clyde-Savannah’s Derrick Chance scores 1,000th; Wayne girls beat Newark in double-overtime (W-FL round-up 1/3)

Clyde-Savannah senior point guard Derrick Chance scored his 1,000th career point on a corner three-pointer as the Golden Eagles took home a 56 point win over North Rose-Wolcott in Clyde on Wednesday night. The final score was 88-32. Derrick’s brother Marcus Chance led all scorers with 28 points, Dru Carnevale scored 23 and Derrick finished with 24. Gage Leous led the Cougars with 9 in the losing effort. Clyde-Savannah moves to 7-2 on the season and remain unbeaten in Wayne County league play at 6-0.

Everyone at the top of the Wayne County league standings kept pace, however, as East Rochester and Lyons both won. This sets up a huge game on Friday night as Lyons is set to host Clyde-Savannah at the Atwood Gymnasium in a game that will be streamed live on FingerLakes1.com. (Note: There is a strong possibility that the C-S vs. Lyons game will be postponed due to weather if school is cancelled on Friday due to extremely cold temperatures that are expected.)
