Firefighters battle Fleming blaze in frigid conditions

Firefighters from around Cayuga County battled a house fire in frigid temperatures on West Lake Road in Fleming Friday night.

The call came in as a structure fire, and the first units on-scene reported smoke in the area, which quickly was determined to be caused by an active fire.

First responders from Fleming, Owasco, Moravia, Union Springs, Scipio, Auburn, and Aurelius battled the blaze, which was reported to be at 5151 West Lake Road.

Southern Cayuga Ambulance was also called to the scene.



Fire investigators were on-scene within an hour, and as of Saturday afternoon — the blaze remains under investigation.
