FRIDAY FLOODING IN CAYUGA COUNTY / SURROUNDING AREAS

The main issue for much of the reason has been severe flooding caused by heavy rain, snow melt and ice jams in area rivers. The Hamlet of Campbell was evacuated Friday afternoon after an ice jam caused the Cohocton River to flood.

This was the scene in Weedsport shortly after 4:00 pm…

And this backyard in Port Byron around 4:00 pm…

Flooding has caused several road closures heading into Friday evening…
