What do a stately centuries-old homestead and a state-of-the-art Royal Car Wash have in common?
They’ll soon be sharing the same address at the corner of Route 96 and Rowley Road in Victor.
Thanks to two years of creative problem-solving by developers, historians and local officials, Victor Town Planning Board members voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a site plan application for Royal Car Wash. That vote makes way for a new 4,096-square-foot automated Royal Car Wash that will wrap around the historic 1813 Parks Homestead, formerly the home of Cole & Parks.
Formal discussions began in May 2016 between town officials and representatives of Daniele Family Companies, LLC, the driving force behind multiple thriving Rochester-based businesses and properties. But plans to purchase and demolish the Parks Homestead were panned by Planning Board members, though the concept and quality of the Royal brand was embraced.
