Branchport woman charged with DWAI in Penn Yan; held on $2K bail

The Penn Yan Police Department reports the arrest of a 33-year-old Branchport resident following receiving a report of a sick or intoxicated driver on Elm Street.

Police say that Leah M. Brady, 33, was located operating a vehicle on January 26th around 4:54 pm and executed a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, police say that Brady showed signs of intoxication.

She failed a number of field sobriety tests and was taken to Soldiers & Sailors Hospital where she was evaluated by an expert and subject to a blood draw.



She was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, and possession of marijuana.

She was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
