Police: Aurelius man charged with stealing money, phone from woman

An Aurelius man is facing a criminal charge after allegedly taking money from his girlfriend, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Jason P. Colon, 37, 6557 Mullen Drive, was picked up on a warrant Wednesday and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony, and second-degree harassment, a violation. APD said Colon got into a domestic dispute with the victim in his vehicle while on Washington Street on Dec. 23.

Colon and the victim argued and he stole less than $100 and her cell phone from her pocket, APD said. APD said she tried to retrieve the items and Colon pushed her head and hit her on the side of the face a couple times. The victim then got out of the vehicle, Colon drove off and the victim called in the complaint, APD said. Colon was arrested Wednesday afternoon at 33 William St.
