There’s a new Mr. Canandaigua in 2018, and his name should have a familiar ring to longtime residents of the Chosen Spot.
A humbled and grateful John A. “Jack” Schuppenhauer received the honor at the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce’s 108th annual dinner and membership meeting Friday at Finger Lakes Community College.
He is an amazing example of selfless community service, said Chamber Executive Director Ethan Fogg.
“When you look at the work he’s done over time and the number of people whose lives he has affected, it’s hard to find someone whose reach is that positive and that broad,” Fogg said. “It really was pretty self-evident. I’m confident that the sheer scope of his influence was the tie-breaker.”
Schuppenhauer is the 58th Mr./Mrs./Ms. Canandaigua to be named, and was presented with the traditional engraved silver bowl by his predecessor Byron Delavan, Mr. Canandaigua 2017.
