February won’t last forever, that’s a promise. But if you need a break from the cold and gloom, stop by the Arts Center and check out the talents and vision of four regional artists. The Winter Interlude Exhibit continues through Feb. 26, and creativity takes center stage, spotlighting various styles and mediums including oils, watercolors, collage and pottery.
Fran Bliek’s watercolor and oil paintings embody her love of flowers, plants and “other treasures that are hidden in nature.” A long-time participant in and supporter of the Arts Center, Fran often teaches art classes during the spring and summer. You can also see her paintings displayed at various wineries throughout the Finger Lakes area.
The fanciful paintings, doodlings, and collages created by Char DiGennaro exemplify her signature claim that “if you aren’t having fun with your art, you aren’t doing it right.” Her work includes a variety of materials such as torn, textured and painted paper, paints, and stained tissue paper, all of which clearly echo her philosophy of fun and “anything is possible.
