A plan for a scaled-back Nolan’s restaurant rebuild received Canandaigua City Planning Commission approval Tuesday night.
But a definite date when construction will begin — and when the restaurant will reopen — has not been determined.
Co-owner Nick Violas said the hope is still to rebuild in the spring — allowing for the return of summer seasonal business to return to the South Main Street establishment.
But despite the approval, Violas said he has nothing definite at this point.
The restaurant was destroyed by fire in July 2017. The fire’s cause was ruled accidental.
A plan for more seating and parking at the site, where the restaurant opened in May 2014, was approved last October.
