Cayuga County seat on CEDA board up for discussion

Cayuga County’s ex-officio member of the Cayuga Economic Development Agency could change from county Legislature chair to the county administrator, but not all were on board with the suggested change.

Executive Director Tracy Verrier came before the Legislature’s Planning Committee Wednesday night and said the CEDA board would consider updating its bylaws on March 1. CEDA is a local development corporation working to bring business and jobs to the county. One of those updates to its bylaws could be switching out the chair for the administrator.

Legislator and former chairman Keith Batman asked Verrier about the suggestion. She said the city of Auburn had changed its representative from the mayor to the city manager, and a request had been made to do a similar change for the county.
