Soggy weekend on way for the Finger Lakes

It’s going to be an active weather weekend in the Finger Lakes, but it’ll be one that doesn’t include snow in the forecast.

For late-February, it’s a welcomed sight for many in the region.

– Scattered showers will transition into a steadier rain on Friday, with the heaviest, steadiest precipitation falling before nighttime. Temperatures on Friday will hover in the upper-30s or low-40s, according to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil.

– Dense fog will be a possibility tonight with a light snowpack, expected rain — and temperatures around 40 degrees.

– Fog and drizzle will be the story Saturday morning in the Finger Lakes, which will slowly dissipate. Temperatures will be moderate again, in the upper-30s to low-40s, as rain moves back into the region by nightfall.

– Sunday will make a run at 50 degrees and be the ‘change’ day. Heavy rain is expected, along with strong winds out of the east. Montreuil says that it will be the final system of the week, but as result of what comes on Sunday — wind gusts upwards of 50 mph will be possible in some locations.
