Deputies: Man forged girlfriend’s signature on multiple insurance policies

Deputies say a Rochester man was charged with forgery after an investigation into an incident that took place in Bloomfield.

James K. Smith, 33, was employed as an insurance salesman and had completed several policies in the name of his girlfriend, forging her signature to said policies in the process without her permission.

Smith was charged with second-degree forgery and issued an appearance ticket to answer the charge.
