It is a big message of positivity delivered in small way.
“We need to heal as a community and we need to heal as a school building and a school district,” Dr. Terry Ward, Cato-Meridian superintendent, said.
More than a thousand Post-it notes plastered the lockers of Cato-Meridian high school – reminding students to be powerful and brave.
“Really the message was you’re loved, you’re cared for, you’re safe. We really want our students to know that," Ward said.
After a difficult week in the district, which included a frightening lockdown for the Cato-Meridian high school, administrators said now is the time to move forward together.
“After a stressful week last week to just kind of start recharged and positive," Cheryl Sawyer, Cato-Meridian school councilor, said.
This is just the beginning of a 17 day campaign called #whatsyour17?
