The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation following allegations that a 16-year-old Auburn student made threatening statements on a bus ride home from Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES.
Auburn Enlarged City School District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said the incident was reported at around 3 p.m. Wednesday when a student called the bus garage saying she heard there had been threats made on a school bus. He said district administrators immediately alerted the sheriff’s office, which launched an investigation.
By 8 p.m. Wednesday, Pirozzolo said, detectives informed the district there was no risk to any students or staff members. At around that time, the district issued a school message to parents, informing the community of the allegations and investigation.
