Fishers Fire District commissioners Tuesday voted against consolidating with the Victor Fire Department to form a new Victor Consolidated Fire District. The vote was three opposed to two in favor.
It was the fourth scheduled vote for Fishers, three of which saw eleventh-hour cancellations in November and December. The commissioners — most newly seated in December — were voting on whether to dissolve their century-old district and become part of the proposed new district.
The vote follows years of discussion, $32,000 in research and strategic planning, and hundreds of hours of work on the part of town and village of Victor officials and staff.
