Teens accused of murdering Sodus teen plead not guilty

The two teenagers accused of murdering a Sodus teen in a park last December pleaded not guilty to a grand jury indictment Tuesday.

Vaughn Gray, 19, and Hunter Peck, 18, were in Wayne County Court in Lyons Tuesday to enter a plea to the charges, according to Wayne County District Attorney Mike Calarco.

Both Gray and Peck were indicted on charges of first-degree and second-degree murder and three counts of first-degree robbery in the death of 17-year-old Zackary Dwello.

Dwello was found in Perkins Park on December 8. He had multiple stab wounds and had called 911 before falling unconscious.

Police said Dwello died hours later at Strong Memorial Hospital.
