Public’s help requested after fire at Barr Transportation in Auburn

Authorities in Cayuga County are trying to determine the origin of a fire at Barr Transportation on York Street.

The fire, which is now under investigation by the Auburn Police Department and Auburn Fire Department — destroyed three tractor-trailers, and seriously damaged another.

There was even a diesel spill as result of the fire, due to a melting tank.

The fire was reported around 5:42 p.m. on Sunday. It’s unclear if the fire was set, or if it originated within one of the vehicles.

That’s why authorities are asking for the public’s help.
