Yankees prepared for split doubleheader Sunday

Luis Severino is slated to start the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader in Detroit, starting at 1:10 p.m. ET. He was knocked around by the Red Sox in his last start, allowing five runs and eight hits while taking the loss at Fenway Park. Francisco Liriano is penciled in for the Tigers. … Luis Cessa, called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier this week with CC Sabathia out, is expected to start the second game Sunday at 7:10 p.m. ET, facing Tigers lefty Matt Boyd. Cessa has a 4.54 ERA in 73 1/3 innings as a big league starter. … Also on Sunday, Major League Baseball will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day as part of a league-wide celebration for the Hall of Famer. All on-field personnel for both clubs will wear No. 42, as well as a commemorative patch on all jerseys and caps.
