Clifton Springs man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

A 41-year-old Clifton Springs man was arrested on two charges after a traffic stop on State Route 332.

Deputies say Scott E. Wheaton, 41, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Deputies say Wheaton was stopped for driving with a cracked windshield on State Route 332; and at that time it was discovered that he also had a suspended license.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge in Farmington Town Court at a later date.
